  2. Barbara Cope says:

Loved the movie. Got the book some years ago when the Author was in my home town at the church I attend. Enjoyed hearing him talk and immediately went out and bought the book. I have read the book numerous times and was overjoyed to hear the movie was finally coming out. When I went to see the movie I admit I was ready to be disappointed as most movies rarely attain the greatness of the books. I was happily surprised, the movie was spot on and the characters were very much as I had imagined them. Thumbs up to a job well done.

  3. Karen says:

Whenever I needed a lift in my spirits or just was feeling down. I would read this book. My brother had given all of our family a copy of it and at first I cried like a baby. After about the 3rd or 4th time of reading it I was still upset in certain parts but was more understanding each time. I absolutely was amazed at how the book and movie were right on target. If anyone ever needs a uplifting feeling just read the book or when the DVD comes out buy it. You can never get tired of this spectactular story. My friend lived in Oregon when this happened and she was thrilled when I gave her a copy. A+++++++++++++ in my book

  4. Debbie Deal says:

This is the best movie I have ever seen. I believe it is a life changer. There were so many beautiful, pure spiritual “nuggets” in it-faith, love, forgiveness, and obedience. It shows us how God can take the darkest, most horrible tragedy, and make something beautiful in your life with it. I thought the cast was perfectly chosen. They all played their parts perfectly. I loved Sam Worthington. He brought the rawness of brokenness to the film. This movie was hard to leave behind as the credits rolled. I loved the soundtrack. Bits and pieces of the story kept coming into my mind. I’m a little embarrassed to say I have seen the movie 5x, and plan to buy it when it is released onto DVD. I don’t know how any movie made can ever top “The Shack.”

  5. Mary says:

wow! read the book, loved the movie, Octavia Spencer was the best person to play Papa, in fact everybody is awesome, can’t wait for the dvd. Thank you Mr. Young maybe a part 2? of course book 2 first…many blessings…

  6. Shanny says:

I read the book twice. I have to admit, the first time I read it, I bawled like a baby. The second time, I cried, but not quite as intensely as the first. I then went to see the movie.
I’ll start by saying I loved the movie. I was a little disappointed with the way some things are handled in the movie, but not with the actors or the acting. I think the movie strove to honor the book and did so in many ways. The book just was more intense and Mr. Young’s word painting was just a little more intense. But I loved both reading the book and watching the movie. I can hardly wait for the movie to be released on dvd or blu ray.

  7. Cathy Neese says:

I LOVED the movie. I read the book and it followed the book pretty well, the ending was different than the book but I still enjoyed the movie. It helps to answer those hard questions about God in a manner that everyone can relate to. I highly recommend the movie and will be buying the dvd when it comes out.

  8. Karen says:

Heart wrenching! Good to know that in this movie they do not put God in a Box and stereo type the Creator of all things. He is Everything to Everybody and comes to everyone in a different vision. It did not follow the book to the “T”, but they never do…love the way the woman who helps him as a child later becomes the same one to help him, as a beaten and bruised child, she was the God he remembered. Praise Yeshua for the lives this film can and will help to heal and lead to God.

  9. Mario Sánchez says:

This is an amazing movie. Very well taken to the screen. Very appealing to the senses and directed to the soul. Thank you very much people, keep up this type of work. The world and humans need more of this. Hope I can get get it on DVD soon. Wow…
