  1. Collette Brown says:

This was a very moving movie for me as an African american. As a grandmother I can only hope more producers will continue to show the real truth of our heritage. Our children need to know and learn from their ancestors.

  2. joan ehnot says:

  3. Portia Miller says:

I heard this story from a client and I instantly became interested in reading the book and finding out more about Henrietta Lacks and the HeLa cells, see you would think that I would have known all about this story being that this story comes close to home for me. I am a native of South Boston VA. and spent time in Clover VA. with a high school friend and her family and visiting my parents friends that resides in Clover VA.. I’m currently reading the book and i’m mesmerized!!!!! This story is definitely and unforgettable one and i’m so thankful for Rebecca Skloot, Oprah Winfrey, all of the Lacks family/friends and everyone that had a role in making Mrs. Henrietta Lacks name and legacy known. My cousin and I are reading the book together and we call one another twice a week to discuss the book or final discussion will be tomorrow morning right before the movie premiers tomorrow night! I’m so excited!
