Shot in the Dark cover

In his directorial debut, actor Adrian Grenier questions the nature of fatherhood and the meaning of family history as he embarks on a personal quest to become reacquainted with his estranged father.

After interviewing a wide array of fathers and sons, Adrian decides he should meet with his biological father, whom he’s convinced is a man named John who lives in Lancaster, OH. Following a series of sometimes-awkward phone calls, John finally agrees to meet Adrian for the first time in 18 years.

With a newfound sense of self, and after talking again with his mother about the circumstances that led to the couple’s estrangement, Adrian reunites with his father one more time – in dramatic fashion.
