Let’s Be Cops cover

It’s the ultimate buddy cop movie except for one thing: they’re not cops. When two struggling pals dress as police officers for a costume party, they become neighborhood sensations. But when these newly-minted “heroes” get tangled in a real life web of mobsters and dirty detectives, they must put their fake badges on the line.

1 Visitor Review for Let’s Be Cops

  1. Joe Cabello says:

I couldn’t get past the premise when I first saw the preview, and it seems as though the writers never really got past the premise either. For the first few gags it’s relatively believable and funny, but it quickly wears thin. Especially in the police state we’re in today, this feels like it was a better fit 20 years ago. My theory on comedy is that if the premise is believable, you can do whatever craziness you want within the premise. That was not the case with this movie. I’m a big fan of Damon Wayans Jr and Jake Johnson, but they couldn’t save this movie. The high potential and low return reminded me of Tracy Morgan and Bruce Willis in Cop Out. Two funny people, poor execution/premise.
